Make sure the defences on the inside aren't too close to the outside ring, otherwise the hogs will go towards the core rather than continue around the ring.
Replace the elixir/gold storages on the inside for something with lower HP, such as barracks.
Move storages to the outside - higher HP so they act as good buffers.
